ERROR: "Server Down"

REASON

  • The client is not able to communicate with the server.

SYMPTOMS

  1. On the client side, the banner displays black text + white background with the status "Server Down".

  2. On the server side, the banner is displayed as normal connected with localhost (127.0.0.1), and Server.exe -> Setting green dot indicates the server service is running correctly.

SOLUTIONS

  1. “Client -> About tab” and make sure the “Server IP” has the same IP address as the “Server -> Setting tab -> IP Address” is the same.
  2. If it does not match, you can update the server IP and then replace the “client.connection” file with the one generated under the server installation folder.
  3. Make sure the client and server are located within the same LAN (check VPN as well if applicable).
  4. Make sure the client -> System Info -> Server IP matched with the server -> Setting tab -> Server IP.
  5. Make sure the client. The connection file is the someone that is generated by the Server -> Setting tab -> a small save button right next to the Server Port.
  6. Check the Client & Server computer firewall inbound outbound rules, and make sure to allow TCP port 56789 (default port)image
